Wedding Planner's Top 5 Wedding Venues in LA

Picking a wedding venue is one of the most important (and hardest) decision making in wedding planning. You want to make sure the venue reflects your vision and meets your needs at a reasonable price.

As a wedding planner, I've worked at hundreds of venues and faced all the goods and the bads behind the scene. So... I've put together my top 5 venues in the Los Angeles area that I recommend to brides that want to save the headache of dealing with a crappy managed venue. My criteria of a good venue includes the following:

- good value: are they offering a level of product and service that meets their price range?

- exceptional staff: Is the event manager easy to work with? How efficient and friendly are their staff?

- condition of venue: is it clean and well managed?

- flexibility: can they accommodate last minute changes and plan B? (example: if it suddenly rains, can they offer an indoor option?)

1: The Unique Space ($$)

The number one thing at the Unique Space is flexibility. It has multiple areas you can use you ceremony, cocktail hour or reception and they essentially have no rules. Well - they do have rules and guidelines but they're very flexible on the hours of event, how you can set up the floor plan and what vendors you want to use... there is so much room for creativity and uniqueness.

2: FCCLA ($$)

This is the most beautiful church in all of Los Angeles with their organ being the world's second largest church organ. You'll get dreamy photos from indoor and outdoors and there are numerous reception area options depending on the size of your wedding (fits up to 250 for indoor reception). The recently got a new management team, offer free parking for the guests and allows alcohol (which is a plus for a church venue). I highly recommend this church for couples looking for a religious background.

3 Rolling Hills Country Club ($$$) Country clubs/golf course are not my usual favorites but this one is an exception. Their recently built ballroom overlooks the city with large windows and the ivory carpet with modern interior makes the room really standout. They offer simple wedding packages you can choose from and their management team is very hands on.

4: Summit House ($$) An Orange County sweet spot! This prime rib restaurant truly has it all - good food, good bar, good location, good views, good staff. The wedding hall is completely separate from the restaurant and even have their own garden for your ceremony. It's a simple and easy option for couples that wants it all.

5: Calamigos Ranch ($$$)This venue just sells itself and catches everyone's hearts upon first visit (it also helps that they offer champagne, coffee and cookies during the consultation). There are about 5 locations within the property and each property has it's own unique charm. I must say I've had about 10 weddings here.. and although I'm low key jaded, I still highly recommend it to everyone who wants a stunning venue that requires minimum decor.
